A text message from your mom (my mother)....

******the boy is soooo sweet, he had a great am lunch, scarfed that stuff down, cooing and charming his way right into our hearts (you girls did a good job of wraping dad around your finger but Korbin has him all over his hands, feet and heart) MOM with the update xoxxooo***

They watched you this week Monday & Friday. They love you to pieces. Mom puts you on your tummy to sleep which is a big no-no in baby world! She says that's what she did to me & your Aunt's Sheila & Sandra & we are ok. :D.

Last week of 2010!

We are settled into the new home, survived your first Christmas & are settling into a routine with Mom & Poppa watching you on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays. You met your cousin Brielle for the first time last week & she kept grabbing for your binky holder. On Christmas Day we went over to daddy's uncle Daniel's house & you saw some of your Esparza family (Daddy's G'Pa, Uncle Martin, Uncle Daniel & Aunt Rita & Aunt Gina). Sean was making goofy faces at you & you were smiling at him. You were passed around & around, everyone wanted to hold you.

2 more days until 2010 is over & we will welcome 2011! You have been sleeping from around 8pm until 4AM ish!! We are thrilled, but when you get up at 4 you are REALLY CHATTY! Daddy says you have "the gift of the gab" like me. :D.

You will be 3 months old tomorrow, we love you to pieces.

Tomorrow is your very first Christmas!

We are going to church with the family and then to mom & poppas for dinner. Hopefully you will sleep through church And be a happy boy! You are 11 weeks already.

Bless the person who invented the vacuum...

As it saves us when nothing else will make you happy. You have been sleeping 4 hours at a time but between the hours of 5pm to around 9 or 10 you are crabby korbin! You like the sound of the vacuum so I decided to turn it on, the house doesn't need to be vacuumed it just gets you to stop screaming. You are 7 weeks, 4 days.

40 years & 6 weeks....

I'm 40, your 6 weeks....it's November 18, 2010. You slept 4 hours in one stretch for me last night! Woot! Today we celebrate mommys bday at the office then dinner with daddy :)

We closed!

The new home is ours! We've been moving in for the last couple of days, you have been hanging out with you mom & poppa. We are almost all set up! Your new room is a tad smaller but all your furniture fit, you will sleep there tonight! :)

Were moving & it's not fun!

We spent all day today boxing up the house on Connemara bend. We are buying a new home in new braunfels & close on Friday. Poppa shows up with the moving truck, boxes & tape. Mom boxed up the entire kitchen after getting you down for a nap & I boxed up the upstairs. Man, are we tired!

One month!

Wednesday, October 27th, almost 3 weeks old!

This is me & you. :). We came to the office today to hang out & see what folks are up to. You got to see your aunt Sheila again, she fed you & you did a GiANT poop for her.

Tomorrow you will be three weeks old & me & daddy couldn't love you more OR remember our lives without you. ;)

Of course, it's only October 24th & w still have a week to go, I thought we'd wear your Halloween get-up to your nana & papas house today, why not?

Daddys first day back at work...

He wanted updates. He missed you.

We hung out together today, all day, just me & you, you & me, just the two of us.

Daddy went back to work today, he had been off for almost two weeks, it was time. I'll admit, I was scared, I didn't know how to work the car seat or the stroller, daddy had been doing all that for us so far. You had your two week check up this morning so I was ON MY OWN!

I figured it out though, we did fabulous together & we even got updates all day from daddy. He missed us, he wanted to know what we were doing & how we were doing, etc.

We went by my office after the MD, you snoozed & snoozed. You were a really good boy, we will have many more days together like today, just me & you :).

Your first piece of mail!

Came today....it's your social security card! You are 14 days old today, tomorrow you will be 2 weeks old!

We have been staying home with you everyday, I finally got out of the house alone today for about 2 hours. I mailed off the checks for our new home in new braunfels & got your cousin Samantha a gift - her parents baby shower is this weekend. Daddy has to go back to work soon :(. We will miss him but it's temporary since he will be working from home soon! Yippee!

Monday, Monday.......

Today is your very first Monday in this world! You will have many, many more but today is your first. You spent it all day hanging out with me & your daddy & the puppies.

You made funny faces, we laughed, you slept & had multiple bottles, we found ourselves smitten with you even more.

You were born on Thursday, October 7th at 9:22 AM. I had an epidural that didn't take so they did a second one & before we knew it, there you were!

So beautiful, big eyes & a smug little look on your face. Your had is absolutely smitten & we both can't stop staring at you. Welcome to the world son, we love you so very much.

Your nana & papa were at the hospital along with your mom & poppa, aunt Sheila was there & later on Theresa came by & rebecca. The nurse gave me alot of morphine after the surgery so I was really loopy, it made me really itchy, I didn't like it.

Dr Harden said if she had not decided on the c section we would have been in labor for about 2 days & then probably would have ended up doing the c section anyway.

The last ultrasound showed you were 9lbs, 15 ounces but once you were actually here you were 7 lbs, 8ounces, 20 inches long. We love every bit of you!

Day before your birthday!

We were scheduled for an amnio this AM but my BP was too high, they decided to send me straight to the hospital where we will wait to meet you tomorrow!

FINALLY!

24 hour observation = Not Fun!

I went to the OB this AM & just like that she had me admitted for a 24 hour observation. When your aunt Sandra had your cousin Brielle 3 months ago she had been in the hospital already 4 weeks! Her 24 hours turned into 678, not fun. Hopefully, that doesn't happen here!

Anyway, your daddy came home from work to see me & hung out (on his laptop) & then Leti came by & your mom & poppa. We are hoping you stay put until October, today is September 27th. I am 36 weeks & 3 days.

Week 35~

We have now made it to 35 weeks pregnant. The MD told me last week you are alredy 7lbs, 11 ounces! Holy Cow! They are going to do an amnio in 3 weeks to see if your lungs are fully developed & then see about getting you born!

You are moving around more & more, kicking my ribs & acting like you are ready to be in this world. They won't let you be born until after 37 weeks so we will know soon enough when you will be here!

Your due date is October 22nd but looks like you might be here sooner than that!

34 Weeks! Almost here......

We are trying to be patient. In the last 3 weeks you have been really moving around. We had an ultrasound done yesterday where your little hand was right by your face as well as your right foot - the tech said "he's pretty flexible", your Aunt Sheila said you were already doing yoga like your Mom & Poppa do.

Can you please hurry up & get here already? We want to see you!

We think you are now about 6lbs. Last time the MD weighed you you were 5.5, another weigh in next week. I started this blog in May @ 18 weeks, big deal! I thought I was far along then! NOW we're cooking with grease! 34 weeks, OMG!

Nursery finished ~ Just in time!

We finally finished your room last weekend. It was a long, labor day weekend filled with, LABOR! It was truly a labor of love though. Daddy did your chair rail, it turned out really nice, he was hanging things, cussing & then very proud of his work.

We think it looks spectacular & hope you love it!

And Korbin was his name-o!

It's been official for awhile, many weeks now, at least 6 or 8 but we are just getting used to saying it still. I wrote a blog post about 3 months ago asking folks for help naming you.

Of course we had our own ideas but were trying to come up with something that started with a T so you could match with daddy! The ideas were endless but nothing stuck, we contemplated Tanner for about 2 weeks but decided it was REALLY popular & didn't want that SO, we decided on Korbin! We love it & hope you do as well!

P.S. - the middle name is still out - your dad want's to honor his grandmother who he loved very much, her name was Betty Lee Esparza, her maiden name was Crawley. I suggested Korbin Lee but dad is set on Korbin Crawley. This is still in the discussion phases. :D.

Furniture is DONE!

I keep saying that, but, it's true!

We got your furniture done over Memorial day weekend. Mom & Poppa went to great lengths to pick it up in Dallas with some other pieces for their church, we were glad they were so generous!

There was a TON of discussion about the color of the furniture which is a whole other story but who cares, let's skip that part....it's stained, it's beautiful & it's in your ROOM! Your very own room with your own closet! Daddy had all his clothes in that closet, it was HIS closet, now it's yours (& pretty filled up already I might add!). Baby shower is next weekend, I can't wait! We are now 30 weeks & 2 days. VERY SOON you will be here sweet boy! oh, by the way, your name is Korbin!

I found this ball for you today. I have a listing at a home that is about to be foreclosed on, the owners now live in Florida. I saw it & I thought "hey! I'll save myself $10 bucks down the road......" I know, i'm cheap, but guess what? Your dad's cheaper. :D

18 Weeks and it's a BOY! (your a boy!)

Figured I should blog about it! Every one's doing it, why shouldn't I ?? Something my parent's didn't have access to & something my son can read & hopefully not be embarrassed by in years to come!

We found out a couple of weeks ago that you would be a boy, daddy is really excited, is already planning hunting trips with you, him & your papa Geno. My mom has already bought you some camo so you are set! Just get here already! Oh, one small detail though, we need a NAME!@!!!!!!
